1. Prepaid balance model
SMSPin runs on a prepaid balance. You top up your account with a fixed amount, and every successful activation deducts from that balance at the price shown at order time. You never get an unexpected bill.
2. Accepted payment methods
- Credit & debit cards — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, Discover (via Stripe)
- Apple Pay & Google Pay — where supported by your device and card issuer
- Cryptocurrency — Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, USDC (ERC-20 and TRC-20)
- Wire / bank transfer — for orders of USD 500 or more. Contact [email protected].
Card and digital-wallet payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number. Crypto payments are processed by our gateway partner and credited to your balance after network confirmations.
3. Currency
All prices on SMSPin are listed and charged in US dollars (USD). If your card is in another currency, your issuer may convert at their own rate and add a foreign transaction fee. SMSPin doesn't add any currency conversion fee on top.
4. When you're charged
- At top-up — you're charged the full top-up amount to your payment method.
- At order time — the order price is deducted from your SMSPin balance. No separate charge to your payment method.
- On refund — failed activations auto-credit your balance. No refund is pushed back to your card unless required by law.
5. Failed payments
If a card charge fails, Stripe will tell us why (insufficient funds, 3DS challenge, card blocked, etc.) and we'll surface the reason in the dashboard. You can retry from the same screen or pick a different payment method.
Crypto top-ups that under-pay the invoice get credited with the partial amount; over-pays are credited in full. Unconfirmed crypto transactions older than 72 hours are voided.
6. Taxes
Unless otherwise indicated, prices shown exclude sales tax, VAT, or equivalent consumption taxes. You are responsible for any taxes due in your jurisdiction. Where we are legally required to collect tax on your order (for example, EU VAT on B2C orders), the tax is shown and added at checkout.
Business customers can enter a valid VAT number at checkout to have reverse-charge rules applied where eligible.
7. Invoices and receipts
Every successful top-up produces a receipt you can download from your dashboard. If you need a formatted invoice with business details, add your billing info in Settings and invoices will be generated automatically for future top-ups.
8. Fraud prevention
We use industry-standard fraud screening (3D Secure, device fingerprinting, velocity checks). Orders flagged as high-risk may be held for manual review or declined. We don't keep payment method details beyond what the processor returns to us.
9. Chargebacks
Please contact us at [email protected] before initiating a chargeback. We almost always resolve billing issues faster than the chargeback process would. Opening a chargeback without contacting us first may result in your account being suspended while the dispute is pending.
10. Minimum and maximum top-ups
- Minimum card top-up: USD 5
- Minimum crypto top-up: USD 10 equivalent
- Single-transaction maximum: USD 2,500 (higher on request — see Section 2)
