Temporary number for OnTaxi
A real phone number, issued to you alone, that receives exactly one OnTaxi verification code and then expires. Nobody else ever sees the code, you never give OnTaxi your own number, and if the code doesn't arrive you are refunded automatically.

What “temporary” actually means here
The number is yours from the moment you order it until the OnTaxi code lands, or twenty minutes pass — whichever comes first. Then it is released.
It is not a shared inbox. For that window the number routes to your screen and nobody else's, which is the whole difference from a free public number.
No code, no charge — the refund is automatic and goes back to your balance. You are never billed for a number that stayed silent.
It cannot receive a second code, and you cannot get it back later. That is what keeps it at $0.10 instead of a monthly line rental.
Because the number is recycled after you, don't attach one to an account you intend to keep. If OnTaxi will ever text you again — a login, a password reset, a delivery code — you want a rented number that stays yours, not a temporary one.

Add balance with crypto or a card, then order. The number appears on your dashboard immediately — there is no queue and no approval step.
- 3Enter it in OnTaxi

Temporary, free, or rented?
Three different products that all put a number between you and OnTaxi. Most people verifying once want the first.
Temporary number
A private number, yours for one OnTaxi code. It expires after that, so nobody else ever receives your codes. Cheapest way to verify once.
Free public number
A shared inbox anyone can read. Fine for testing your own app — never for a real OnTaxi account, because strangers see the code too and the number is usually already registered.
Rented number
The same number kept for days or weeks, receiving unlimited SMS. Use it when you need to log back in to OnTaxi later, or receive more than one code.
Questions about temporary OnTaxi numbers
How long does a temporary OnTaxi number last?
Long enough to receive one OnTaxi code. You hold the number for 20 minutes from the moment you order it; once the code arrives — or the 20 minutes run out — the number is released and you will never receive anything on it again. It is not a subscription and there is nothing to cancel.
Can I receive more than one OnTaxi code on the same number?
No. A temporary number is single-use by design, which is what keeps it cheap and private. If you need to log back in to OnTaxi later, or expect a second code, rent a number instead — a rented number stays yours for days or weeks and receives unlimited SMS.
What happens if the OnTaxi code never arrives?
You are refunded automatically, in full, back to your SMSPin balance. You do not have to open a ticket or ask. Nothing on this page is charged unless a code is actually delivered to you.
Is a temporary number the same as a free public number?
No, and the difference matters. A free public number is a shared inbox — anyone on the internet can read the codes sent to it, and popular ones are already registered on OnTaxi. A temporary number is issued to you alone for the length of one code, so nobody else ever sees it.
How much does a temporary OnTaxi number cost?
$0.10 on the cheapest country in the table above. The price varies by country because supply does; you pay the price shown on the row you pick, and the table is rebuilt from live stock, so what you see is what checkout charges.
Why are only some countries listed for OnTaxi?
A country appears here when it has numbers in stock right now at a price checkout will honour. We have no delivered-code record for OnTaxi in the last 30 days yet, so the list is not ranked by delivery — if the code does not arrive, the order is refunded in full automatically.
Can I reuse a temporary number to make a second OnTaxi account?
You cannot — it is gone once released, and it will eventually be recycled to someone else. That is also why you should never attach a number you do not control to an account you care about: whoever holds it next can trigger a password reset.
Do I need to give you my own phone number or ID?
No. An email address and a balance are all that is required. The point of the product is that your real number never touches OnTaxi.
